In a fitting tribute, Melissa Stockwell was selected as the flag bearer for the United States during closing ceremonies at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.It's a great honor for Melissa, who while growing up developed a passion for the American flag and all that it represents.
And as you can see from the U.S. Paralympic announcement, her selection stems from respect she has earned from a variety of U.S. Paralympians, not only fellow swimmers.
